Maria Gill on behalf of the Brisbane City Library has been in contact about two of my works that are based on World War 1.

Eventual Poppy Day, historical fiction for young adults, and A Soldier a Dog and a Boy with Phil Lesnie’s startlingly good illustrations, are soon to be part of a special exhibition of Australian children’s books set in WWI.

The display boards pertaining to the creation of the ANZAC stories are to be mounted first in Brisbane; and then a picture book exhibition will follow in Sydney at the NSW State Library.

Libby Hathorn at the Somme
Visiting her relative’s grave at the Somme lent more meaning to Libby Hathorn’s work.
