Miracles do happen – or incredible coincidences anyway.

Working on the second part of my novel Asylum, I needed contact with Syrian refugees to gain more insight into their plight. I wanted to talk one to one if possible. As luck would have it, I met someone at an airport in Hanoi whose young doctor daughter works with refugees all over the world. What a breakthrough to meet Meghan while she was in Sydney briefly and begin to see through her eyes something of the refugee camps where she’s worked, as Syrian refugees and others push relentlessly toward Europe, and especially Germany.

Talking about refugees to Meghan in my garden.
