Spent a wonderful half day “travelling” with splendid lecturer John McBride. He charmed us with his lecture on the haiku genius poet Matsuo Basho, of the late 1600s. Basho was taking his physical/spiritual journey of more than fifteen hundred miles ‘On the narrow road to the north’ and writing both beautiful prose and poetry. I was delighted that artist Sadami Konchi was also at the lecture taking her notes in artform.
